How the numbers are calculated.

RankUpside reads 13 weeks of Search Console data by page and search, compares the last 4 weeks with the 4 before, and names the cause of each change with fixed rules. Won deals, when connected, are split across a page's searches by click share. Clicks Google doesn't attribute to a search stay in their own hidden line.

What it doesn't do: It never guesses which search a buyer typed, and it doesn't claim a search caused a sale.

Where each number comes from, and which are estimates.

Search Console numbers are Google's own. Market data is bought from data providers and is an estimate. The app and the report label every figure with its source, and dollar estimates are rounded so they don't look more precise than they are.

What is the report window?

The last 4 complete weeks against the 4 before, out of 13 weeks of history. Weeks start on Monday and end a few days back, past Search Console's reporting lag.

What does coverage mean?

Two things, both shown next to the figure they qualify. Named-search coverage is the share of a page's clicks that Search Console ties to a search. Price coverage is the share of clicks with a cost per click; the traffic value only appears above 30%.

Hidden searches stay on their own line.

Search Console counts clicks it won't tie to a search (Google calls them anonymized queries). RankUpside reports that share and keeps it as its own line. It never spreads hidden clicks across the searches it can see.

46.77%

of Search Console traffic came from anonymized queries, across 887,534 properties.

Revenue by search: split by click share.

Optional, once won deals are connected. A deal joins to the page the customer landed on. Its amount is then split across that page's searches by each search's share of the page's clicks, and the hidden share keeps its part.

What's the formula?

A search's share = deal amount × the search's clicks ÷ the page's clicks, rounded down to the cent. Whatever the named searches don't take stays with the hidden line.

Which deals count?

Won deals in the report window whose landing page matches a page in Search Console. Open deals count as pipeline. Deals with no matching page are listed as unmatched, not guessed.

What stays out?

Paid, social, email and Business Profile or Maps leads are another channel, so they never count as organic revenue on a page.

Buyer clicks: searches that hire or buy.

The report leads with clicks from buyer searches, not all clicks. A search counts as a buyer search when it asks for a price, a quote, a provider or a service; how-to, comparison, brand and navigational searches don't. Online stores and software companies get their own word lists.

Why clicks moved: one rule per cause.

Each change in the last 4 weeks against the 4 before gets a named cause from fixed rules, so the fix matches the cause. Three of them call for opposite fixes on pages that look alike: high impressions, almost no clicks.

Each diagnosis rule: when it fires and the fix it calls for

Map packA local buyer search of 5 words or fewer at average position 3 or better, with 1% click-through or less and at least 100 impressions on the page in 4 weeks.Local businesses only.Work the Google Business Profile. The map pack above the result is taking the clicks.Never a title fix: the page already ranks.

How fixes are ranked.

Each fix gets a value at stake, a confidence and an effort. The list is ordered by value at stake, weighted by confidence and divided by effort. Clicks lost on a page that brings in revenue count 3× toward its stake.

How are clicks at stake estimated?

From the click-through rate a better position would earn, using the site's own curve for non-branded searches where it has at least 1,000 impressions in a position band, and a pooled curve otherwise. Neither ever exceeds a standard curve.

How is value at stake priced?

Clicks at stake times the search's cost per click. Without a price for that search, the site's median cost per click stands in, and with no prices at all, the clicks themselves.

What do confidence and effort do?

A cause seen on a live check counts in full; an inferred one counts less. Small fixes, such as a title change, count 1× effort; medium ones, such as Business Profile work, 2×. Pages with measured leads or won deals get a 1.25× weight.

Methodology questions.

Does RankUpside know which search a customer typed?
No. Search Console never links a search to a visitor. A won deal joins to the page the customer landed on, and its revenue is split across that page's searches by their share of the page's clicks.
Why don't the impressions match Search Console?
The report adds impressions up per page. Search Console's property total counts one impression per results page, so when two of a site's pages show for one search, the report counts two. Average position runs a little worse for the same reason.
What counts as a buyer click?
A click from a search that hires or buys: prices, quotes, near me, services, installation, repair. How-to, comparison, brand and navigational searches don't count. Online stores and software companies get their own word lists.
Is the ad value revenue?
No. It's what the client's search clicks would cost at Google Ads prices: clicks times cost per click. It's an estimate of value, shown only when enough clicks have a price, and it's labeled as one.
Can a diagnosis be wrong?
Yes. Most causes are inferred from Search Console patterns. The weekly live check confirms or contradicts them; each finding is labeled observed or inferred, and one the live results contradict is dropped.
