Local SEO agency software that knows when the map pack took the clicks

RankUpside is reporting software for local SEO agencies. It reads each client's Search Console, checks up to 50 searches a week in live Google results from the client's city, and records the client's rank and whether the map pack shows. When the map pack takes the clicks, it says to work the Business Profile and skip the title rewrite.

What it doesn't do: It doesn't run geo-grid scans across a city or track Apple Maps. Business Profile calls and directions arrive once Google approves our API access.

Fix: Work the Google Business Profile.

Don't rewrite the title. It already ranks #1–2.

When the map pack takes the clicks.

A page can rank #1–2 for a local search and get almost no clicks, because the map pack sits above it. RankUpside spots the pattern in Search Console, confirms the pack on the weekly live check, and sends the work to the Google Business Profile instead of the title. What the map pack is.

Google Maps rank tracking: what the weekly check covers.

Many agencies search for a Google Maps rank tracker expecting a geo-grid. Here's exactly what RankUpside checks and what it doesn't. If you sell Maps rankings across a service area, a geo-grid tool such as Local Falcon maps rank across a grid of points; use both.

Live results for five searches from the client's city: rank, map pack status (none, or you're not in it), AI Overview status and top domains.

Titles that name a city nobody searched.

Local sites often put the town in every title. On a page-one result where people search the topic without the town, the city costs clicks. The finding shows the old title and a new one that leads with what people searched. City in the title, explained.

Calls and form leads from the right channel.

Calls and form leads from CallRail or WhatConverts arrive by webhook, tied to the page the caller landed on. The form snippet records the landing page on every form. Tag the Business Profile's website link with ?utm_source=gbp, and map-pack leads stay out of SEO revenue, where they'd blur the diagnosis.

  • Business Profile and Maps calls are kept apart from search calls
  • Won deals by webhook from a GoHighLevel workflow
  • Phone numbers stored only as salted hashes

Local Falcon is built around geo-grid tracking and does it well: grids up to 21×21, Apple Maps and AI platforms, competitor reports. RankUpside does a different job, so many agencies run both.

Local agency questions.

Is RankUpside a Google Maps rank tracker?
Partly. Each week it checks up to 50 of a client's searches in live Google results from the client's city and records whether a map pack shows and who is in it. It doesn't scan a grid of points across the city. For grid heatmaps, use a geo-grid tool alongside it.
How does RankUpside know the map pack is taking the clicks?
It looks for short local searches, 5 words or fewer, where a page ranks #1 to #3 with under 1% click-through and at least 100 impressions across those searches. The weekly live check then confirms whether a map pack shows. If none shows, the finding is dropped. The fix is Business Profile work, never a title rewrite.
Can I report Business Profile calls and directions?
Not yet. The connection is built, but Google must approve our access to the Business Profile API first. Calls from CallRail or WhatConverts can be reported today.
How do I keep map-pack leads apart from SEO leads?
Add ?utm_source=gbp to the website link on the client's Business Profile. The form snippet records that source, and RankUpside keeps those leads out of organic search results.
Does it work with GoHighLevel?
Yes, by webhook. A GoHighLevel workflow can post each won opportunity to the client's RankUpside webhook. There's no native GoHighLevel app.
