The best SEO tools for agencies, sorted by the job they do
The best SEO tools for agencies depend on the job. Google Search Console is the free base for every client. AgencyAnalytics covers all-channel client reporting, SEO Gets deep Search Console analysis, Local Falcon map-pack grids and LeadJourney revenue by landing page. RankUpside, which we make, explains why each client's clicks moved and ranks the fixes.
What it doesn't do: This list covers reporting and analysis tools we checked on their public pages. It skips link building, content writing and technical crawlers, and it doesn't score tools out of ten.

The list at a glance
Agencies rarely need one tool for everything. They need the right tool for each job: the data source, the client report, the analysis, local rank and revenue. This table sorts the tools by the job each does best.

Every tool on this list either reads Search Console or works around not having it. It is Google's own record of each site's clicks, impressions, click-through rate and average position, by page and by search, and it costs nothing.
It has three limits for agency work. It keeps 16 months of data (Google, Introducing the new Search Console, January 2018), so long comparisons need a tool that stores history. It doesn't produce a client report. And it leaves out searches made by very few people, which Google calls anonymized queries: their clicks count in the totals but the search terms never appear (Google Search Central, Oct 19, 2022).
Its average position is also a blend of every device, place and day, so it rarely matches one live search.
Client reporting across every channel: AgencyAnalytics
AgencyAnalytics is the category leader in white-label client reporting. It connects 85+ data sources, from Search Console and GA4 to every ad network, call tracking and CRMs such as HubSpot and HighLevel. Its white-label stack is the deepest we checked: a custom report domain, a branded email sender on select plans, a branded login, a mobile app, separate brand profiles per client, a client portal and scheduled reports.
The Core plan is $20 per client a month, billed annually, with unlimited users and dashboards. The rank tracker and the AI Tracker are add-ons: $41.67 a month per 500 keywords and $20.83 a month per 250 credits. For 10 clients that is $200 a month on annual billing before add-ons.
Where it differs from a search-only tool: CRM deal values show as their own widgets, and we found no join from a search or a page to a won deal. Reports describe what changed across channels rather than naming one cause per change. See the full comparison: RankUpside vs AgencyAnalytics.
Deep Search Console analysis: SEO Gets
SEO Gets is an analysis layer on top of Search Console and GA4, built for strategists who dig into the data themselves. It pulls up to 50,000 rows instead of the interface's 1,000, with regex filters, branded and non-branded splits, and reports for striking distance, cannibalization, a CTR benchmark by position and content decay. An Action Plan turns them into tasks, and a weekly email summarizes each site.
Pricing is per site: $49 a month for the first core site and $4 for each extra one, and free sites stay free. A $4 Super Site add-on keeps five years of Search Console history instead of 16 months.
For client reports, SEO Gets shares a live link and suggests embedding it in another tool to hide its name; we found no logo upload or custom domain for the link itself. It has no CRM, map pack or competitor data. See RankUpside vs SEO Gets.
Map-pack rank: Local Falcon
Local Falcon defined the geo-grid. A geo-grid checks a business's map-pack rank for one search from many points across its service area, from a 3×3 to a 21×21 grid, and paints the result as a heatmap. Local Falcon runs the same grid on AI platforms too: ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews, AI Mode and Grok.
It sells credits, one per grid point, so a 7×7 scan uses 49 credits. Plans run from $24.99 a month for 7,500 credits to $199.99 for 63,150. The math to watch is grid size times keywords times how often you scan.
Map-pack rank isn't tied to the calls or deals it brings. A grid tool shows the map; a search report shows the website.
Revenue by landing page: LeadJourney
LeadJourney is attribution software that ties each lead to the ad, or for SEO the entry page, that brought it, and then to the closed deal. It is paid-ads first, with an SEO lane for agencies that have no ad spend. It connects 30+ CRMs, including HubSpot, Salesforce and GoHighLevel, offers call tracking as an add-on, and offers unlimited free client logins.
Advertiser plans start at €129 a month and step up by the ad spend you manage. Agency pricing follows spend plus leads and sales.
Setup per client means a DNS record for its tracking subdomain, a script on the site and CRM mapping. We found no Search Console connection, so organic revenue lands on the entry page rather than on the searches behind it. For how to split revenue by search without overclaiming, see how to prove SEO revenue to clients.
AI answers on your own site: SEO Receipts
SEO Receipts is a solo founder's tool that answers "what should I improve first?" from one site's Search Console data, with an answer card that shows the page, its numbers, the steps and a hold period. Its "launch receipts" compare equal windows before and after a change and fill in as Search Console data arrives.
Plans are $0, $9 or $29 a month and run on credits: one per chat answer, more for article kits and pull requests. It is built for founders and makers rather than agencies, with vendor branding on public pages and no client model.
Do-it-yourself dashboards: Looker Studio
Google's dashboard tool, which Google's own pages now call Data Studio, "is available at no charge for creators and report viewers" (Google Cloud, read October 22, 2026). Its Search Console connector reads either the Site Impression table or the URL Impression table, one per data source.
You can chart anything you design. You also build, fix and update each dashboard yourself, and a chart shows that clicks fell without saying why. See Looker Studio vs RankUpside.
Keyword research suites
Agencies usually pair a reporting tool with a keyword and backlink suite, such as Semrush or Ahrefs, for research, competitor pages and link work. Those suites aren't on this list because they do a different job: finding what to target, not reporting what moved for each client.
Where RankUpside fits
RankUpside is for agencies that report SEO and need the reason behind each change every week. It reads every client's Search Console, adds search volume, cost per click and a weekly live Google check, and names the cause of each change with fixed rules: a map pack took the clicks, an AI answer took them, the title names the wrong city, or the page lost rank. Then it ranks the fixes and sends a white-label report.
Map packSample
Ranks #1–2 for “gutter guard”. The map pack takes the clicks.
Our limits, stated plainly: no ads or social channels, no client login (reports go by private link and PDF), no custom report domain yet, and no geo-grid. Per-prompt AI answer checks in ChatGPT and other assistants are coming soon. See how the causes are named or a sample report, or put a number on a client's leads with the SEO revenue calculator.
How to choose
Start from the job your clients pay for, then pick the tool built for it. Many agencies end up with two: one for research and one for reporting.
Which tool fits which agency
If this is you
Start with
You report several channels to each client (ads, social, SEO)
An all-channel reporting tool such as AgencyAnalytics
You analyze big sites by hand and want every row of Search Console
An analysis tool such as SEO Gets
Your local clients live or die on the map pack
A geo-grid tool such as Local Falcon, plus a search report for the website
You need the reason for each change and the fix, every week, for every client
Most agencies need Google Search Console access for every client, one reporting tool to send results, and a keyword or backlink suite for research. Local agencies often add a map-pack rank tool. The right reporting tool depends on whether clients buy SEO only or several channels.
What is the best SEO reporting tool for agencies?
For all-channel reporting, AgencyAnalytics is the category leader. For agencies that report SEO only and want the cause behind each change and a ranked fix list, RankUpside is built for that job. We make RankUpside, so check both against your client list.
Are there free SEO tools for agencies?
Google Search Console is free and is the source most SEO reports are built on. SEO Gets keeps free sites free, and SEO Receipts has a free plan with limited credits, as of October 20, 2026.
How much do SEO reporting tools cost?
Price models differ. As of October 20, 2026, AgencyAnalytics charges $20 per client a month billed annually, SEO Gets $49 a month plus $4 per extra site, and Local Falcon sells credit plans from $24.99 a month. RankUpside prices by client sites; final prices are set at launch.
Which tool tracks Google Maps rankings?
Local Falcon runs geo-grid scans that show map-pack rank across a grid of points. RankUpside checks whether a client appears in the map pack from the client's city each week, without a grid.
Is this list sponsored?
No. We make RankUpside and say so at the top. No other tool paid to be listed, and each is described from its own public pages.
Copperline Gutters got 27 clicks from named buyer searches in the last 4 weeks, up 23% from the 4 weeks before. Google hides the search terms behind 84% of all 289 search clicks. Rankings rose across the site: pages that steadily show up are up about 2.4 positions.
